If you haven’t been out in the dating world for a while, it has changed. Completely. And while it is possible to meet someone at the grocery store, volunteering or out at a bar there are new ways to meet men. Thanks to technology, I often say it is “as easy to order in a man, as it is to order in a pizza”. This may sound like a hook-up situation to you, but I am merely explaining how technology has completely streamlined the process of meeting someone.
And I am not talking about match.com. I am certainly not talking about eHarmony.com. Or even okcupid.com. I am talking straight up Tinder. Tinder has gotten the reputation of being a hook-up app and I think it was more so when it first launched. You used to be able to see when people were online and how far away they were from you. It was kind of crazy! But now it’s merely an easy and convenient way to meet someone new.
According to the New York Times, who recently named Tinder as No. 5 in their 11 Ways to be a Better Person in 2017: “Three years ago, Tinder was considered a hookup app,” said Julie Spira, an online and mobile dating coach based in Los Angeles, who advises her clients to go on three dating sites, including Tinder, if they’re serious about meeting someone. “Now people are joining Tinder because it’s efficient and easy to use, and everyone seems to be on it.”
AND “I think Tinder is what you make of it,” said Mr. Schleicher, 25. Sure, there are people looking for casual sex, he said, but then there are people who really want to meet someone. “You just have to sift through,” he said.
So what if you have never used a dating app? What if you have tried Tinder, but had a bad experience or two? What happens after you match with someone? How do you decide if you should meet them or not? You might wonder what you should say in your profile or what kind of pictures to post. What about texting? Or sexting? What is ghosting? What is benching? How do I make sure I am going to meet a nice person?
Well, I have been working hard on a free, online, masterclass that will touch on all of this! Plus I partnered with Cheryl Sloane, sex educator and owner of g boutique to take it to the next level and talk about not only dating, but about having the best sex ever as a woman in your 40’s and 50’s. I believe it’s the first time there has been a master class focused on the world of dating and sex as [slightly older] girls and invite you to join us! . There are limited seats available. See you there!! xo
